- I got this for my husband who is VERY picky with things like these but he loves it. It’s very sturdy the seat fully reclines to be straight. It was off by very little, it did not touch the floor equally. You know like those tables with one leg shorter. But once we got the golds gym floor mat also from Walmart it was okay and you can’t even tell or feel it. He has put 300 lb Olympic weights as he benches and has not had any trouble and likes that it even has the bars that will catch the bar in case he can’t get them back up.and I love it too, I can actually do a lot of lower body exercises on here. All in all we both think this was a great deal for the price and quality. This same equipment costs much more at other places.
- This equipment makes you want to work out. Solid and it looks good too. It takes up a fair amount of space but that should be expected. I’m 6’5 and the equipment accommodates me nicely. It exceeded my expectations considering the low cost.
- Pros: Excellent value (although price seems to change often), good entry level multi-position bench, bench is not attached and can be easily moved to use the racks as a squat rack, can support 300lbs of weight (not including the person), includes safety arms for bench pressing, includes preacher pad and leg extension accessories, hardware comes in heat treated plastic on cardboard sheets making it almost impossible to loose any pieces during shipment. Cons: Not for serious or hardcore weight-lifting, connection of the rack arms to the base seems weak (one bolt and a bunch of tiny self tapping screws) causing slight wobble, certain adjustment pins need to screw in as opposed to just slide in making it more difficult and time consuming to make adjustments to height of the rack arms and preacher pad, there are no safety clips on the rack arms to hold the bar in place while loading plates, not commercial grade gym equipment, instructions do not include a listing of all pieces included in the box (detailed listing of hardware only is included), directions are fairly easy to follow but do not include detailed assembly of the rack section (have to use the included diagram to figure it out). This purchase was for my teenage son whom is just getting into lifting weights. It is a good entry level package with lots of options for the price. The multi-position bench allows for a decent range of incline/decline settings which are easily changed. The bench is removable so you can use the bench separately for dumbbell and other exercises. Moving the bench out of the way allows the rack to be used as a squat rack. This item also includes preacher pad and leg extension accessories. I would not recommend this product for a hardcore weightlifter or someone that will be hard on the equipment (slamming the Olympic bar down on the rack arms or excessive banging of the leg extension accessory during use). While it seems like it would hold up to light/moderate use, I would recommend something more commercial grade for a more serious (or less than gentle) user. I picked up this item at my local Walmart. The packaging was in rough shape and the box seemed to have a few rolls of packaging tape around it (clearly a returned product). After opening it up I was surprised to find all of the hardware and pieces included and in great condition. It took my son and I about 90 minutes to fully assemble. The first 20-30 minutes were spent trying to identify all of the hardware and components to make sure nothing was missing or damaged. I suggest using all of your own tools for assembly as the ones provided are poor quality. I also suggest being careful to not overtightening bolts as the tubular framing will bend. We have been using this product for a few weeks now and everything still appears to be lined up correctly and in good working order. It needs a 7 foot Olympic bar and plate set. Don’t go crazy as it can only hold 300lbs of weight (not including the person). There is a plastic cap on the piece of the leg extension that hits/rests against the post of the bench. I assume it will crack over time as it repeatedly hits the post. So I put some foam tape around the post at the point of impact which I hope will reduce the wear on both the plastic cap and post. The height of the preacher pad and rack arms are held in place with adjustment pins that screw in. That makes it difficult and time consuming to change during your workout and when changing setups between users. Why not 5 stars: If the adjustment pins were easier to use and the attachment of the rack arms to the base felt more secure, I would have given this product 5 stars. Overall: Completely satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this product to anyone looking for an entry level weight bench for light to moderate use.
- The bench is great. It is fairly easy to assemble, with a few minor fit issues. The reason I gave it 3 stars is that the packaging was atrocious and due to this, the pieces that hold the posts in place were broken. In addition, the package was missing a piece…one of the bars that goes into the leg extension was missing. So now, i have to call the manufacturer and hope they send me one for free, since they missed it to begin with. Again, the packaging was terrible and was falling apart. I would recommend more sturdy packaging or package the bench and posts separately for better delivery. I wouldn’t be surprised if my missing piece fell out due to the poor packaging.
- I got this item in combination with the 110 lbs. weight set. It took about 3 hours for my 14 year old son to put this together. It appears to very well made, sturdy and solid enough for a good work out.
- This item was a Christmas present for my son. As we began assembly we found that the bench rocked back and forth and was unsafe. As we tried to determine the cause we learned that the front support for the bench was shorter on one side than the other. We have been unable to contact the manufacturer to request a replacement part due to their office being closed for a corporate event. So days later this bench is still in pieces in our basement. We hope that we will be able to secure a replacement part and that we don’t have the same issue with other parts as we move forward in assembly.
