Reviews

  • I was ready to buy my first laptop So I went to best buy to get one customer service was wonderful they help me to pick the right laptop for the best price . Love it :)
  • Great simple TV. Not a lot of stuff you don’t need. Easy to use, easy to hook up, and great picture. A little low on volume but very happy with the unit
  • This TV was bought because of the brand and the price. All was met with positive feedback
  • Our other tv just stopped working so we needed to get a new replacement, went to Best Buy and got this great deal on a tv.
  • We are happy with the attention and service we received from the staff. They helped us in making a choice that was the best one for our needs.
  • Originally I went to purchase an LG TV but as it turns out, it didn’t have that great of a picture. It was a toss up between this 48″ Samsung TV and the SmartTV version. I went with this one because the SmartTV, no matter what settings were changed, had too dark of a picture.
Getting this TV home I hooked it up to my custom surround receiver, the DVR, and my PC which also includes a Blu-Ray Player/Burner. It had just enough HDMI connections for me to do what I needed, but could have had one additional for future upgrades. I do like how it has an optical out on it, but the surround codecs it uses are basic at best. I ended up using Optical off my PC through it’s EQ’d surround and the Coaxial off my DVR for surround. Both of those are much better quality sound than what this TV can put out.
There was also an input delay when hooking the TV to the PC for gaming purposes. It was just enough to really make a difference when playing FPS (First Person Shooter) games. Game Mode is disabled when connected to a PC for some reason. Samsung purposely did this based off the research I made on it. For some reason, Samsung doesn’t believe PC’s are capable or need the Game Mode settings turned on, but this is definitely NOT the case as my PC gaming far outdoes anything any console can ever do for years to come. This was the only downfall to the settings on the TV, however, the work around is to set the TV in Sports Mode which does almost the same thing as Game Mode and clears that input lag.
Color settings are a bit vague as well, but just a little tweaking and you can get the colors just right. If there’s too much darkness/contrast, instead of manually adjusting the contrast settings, switch between Low and High settings on the HDMI Black Levels.
Overall, for the type of TV this is with the slower speeds (60hz), this TV isn’t all that bad if you are looking to save a few bucks for something that’s bigger and can be used for Satellite TV, Movies, and PC Gaming. And if you do own a PC and plan to hook it up to your TV, definitely don’t run with the SmartTV. You can do everything you would with the regular LED TV hooked to a PC that you could with the Smart Features, and it’ll save you a few bucks along the way :)
*Side Note: The stand was a bit cheap to me… I went first on Amazon, but ended up using the manufacturer at AV Express. They have some really great stands/mounts. Despite their one bad review with the BBB (Better Business Bureau), they are a very decent company to order from. Fast shipping and great customer service..
  • I was looking to replace a 5 year old 47″ Proscan LCD HDTV. I didn’t need a smart TV so a basic TV about the same size and it was suggested to me to purchase a name brand TV, because the Proscan was unable to be fixed (part was not available). My Samsung was easy to get installed, very light weight for a large TV. My husband and I were able to install by ourselves. The Picture is very good and the sound is good even with out additional speakers. And to top it off the price was right.
  • I purchased this tv based on other reviews and the picture quality. I like the tv, my only complaint is that it could use one more HDMI port and the sound is sometimes quiet when operating in modes other than tv (such as Roku or BluRay).
