The Mongoose Dolomite 26″ Men’s Bike provides off-road capabilities and everyday riding performance. The 26″ by 4″ knobby tires give riders enhanced stability when conquering different types of terrain and the extra width helps riders handle bumps and obstacles in the road. Dual disc brakes help the user stop safely even in wet and hazardous conditions and the seven-speed rear derailleur is highly responsive. Changing gears to tackle hills and other inclines is not a problem with this Mongoose Men’s bike because the derailleur works with twist shifters for more control over the gears. The bike has an aluminum/steel frame and alloy wheels for lightweight durability. This navy blue/red bike has style as well and a rider can feel proud displaying it around town. The bike is 38″ tall, making it suitable for people of many different heights. Some assembly is required.

  • ordered the bike online and walmart delivered on time, and packaging was good, no damage or scratches on the bike. i got the mongoose beast and hitch already, and weightwise, this dolomite is the heaviest. same frame shape as the beast but with the added disc brakes and gears. the hitch is lighter coz of tapered fork shape and drilled out rims. but because of the 7 speed shimano drivetrain, with twist shifters, this bike rides light and could easily take some uphill trails. its still got steel frames so definitely heavier than more expensive aluminum fat bikes. what sets this bike apart is its iconic color, when you see this bike at the trail from a distance, dark blue body and red rims, you’ll know its a dolomite. both front and rear disc brakes work great after proper alignments and adjustments. worth to note, the tires on this new batch of dolomites are the same as the ones on the hitch, which feature larger knobs. and still, i would not recommend for use on very rough mountain terrain as the hubs may not absorb the abuse. light off road and sand it could take easily. i take it to mostly limestone trails here in IL. the bike has a solid ride feel to it, and as usual, with TLC (good maintenance), dolomite is goin to give you years of riding fun. so just enjoy and ride safely guys.
  • I really, really like this bike. Extremely comfortable ride. I’m not a pro biker or anything. I ride occasionally like a few times a year. But with this bike that’s gonna change drastically. I’m going for everyday possible. I feel like a 1970’s 10 yr old kid again. Hard to separate a boy and his bike. LOL Now I gotta get another one for my girl.
  • I changed the bars as I wanted the BMX look and man does it ride cool. Took me awhile to get the wheelies up but now got them down. Like the cruiser style I made it into with the BLACK Al’s Rapid Transit Kos Kruiser BMX Cruiser Bars. looks pretty cool. Took off all the stickers as well.
  • The quality of this bike is very good for the price. Other bikes of this type cost well over a thousand dollars. This bike handles dirt trails like a billy goat.
  • I like this bike… it got me out riding for exercise. I did put a different seat on it for comfort and safety of the family jewels. 7 speeds is good for me also… i am riding on a tarred road but have the option of dirt trails. It handles both with ease. Others have tried this bike and also like it.
  • Since riding a bike in traffic is tricky for the inexperienced (following both car and pedestrian rules at appropriate times to avoid injury), this bike provided me a level of comfort and safety to encourage bicycling to work. The wheels are wide enough to thwart ruts in the road that would normally take control of a narrower front wheel; also, sand in the road isn’t as threatening. Though there is no suspension, these tires absorb most road and shoulder shocks. Top speed is at a safe speed comfortably around 12 mph in 7th gear, yet you can go faster if you crank it out. I did purchase a memory foam seat that made a big difference in long trip seating comfort. Simple to assemble and to adjust. This bike is attractive, so make sure you lock it up, I wasn’t diligent and had one stolen from me. lesson learned.
  • Spend a hour putting the bike together. Waited a day or two because I was sick to ride it. Go around my block and Snap goes the chain. Solid bike but QA missed a few things Tire rubber was installed backwards. Chain was faulty. Returned for a better bike at half the cost.
