• We ordered the 2DS for our 7yr old, who we lovingly call Trainwreck, for Christmas because he had broken the hinge on his DS and was asking for a 3DS from Santa. We decided to go with the 2DS because of the one-piece design and the fact that it would play all of the games that he already had and the newer 3DS games that he was wanting. He loves it and so do we!! Our only disappointment was that we assumed (and yes I know that is dangerous) that Mario Kart 7, the game he really really wanted came on the system already because the description says “with Mario Kart 7”. However it doesn’t come automatically on the machine, you have to go to the website and download it. And since we never opened the box when it came in we didn’t know any of this until Christmas morning when he opened it and was ready to play. And since we don’t have internet at home (yes there are still people in the world without it) we had to wait a couple of days to get it. But that was a our-bad on our part for not looking at it closer when it came in. Other than that we have been extremely happy with it and our son was so excited once we explained why he got it and not the 3DS. He loves it!!
• I bought this for my 6 year old son and it is easy to use and of good quality. Do recommend getting a case for it. I like that the game came as a download rather than a game to keep track of. It was easy to update and download the game. It took some time but was easy. I like that this game system will play regular DS and 3DS games and comes with it’s own stylus. The controls are durable and I also like how the system itself doesn’t fold and is one piece. Perfect for the younger kiddos. I’m satisfied with this purchase.
• This 2DS came with Mario Kart 7, which my son and I easily figured out how to download with the included gift code. He loves his new DS, as he has only had a DS lite before. The graphics are awesome and I regularly hear him exclaiming new things he loves about the 2DS as he plays his new game. Thanks, Walmart, for the great deal on a quick shipment and excellent product bundle.
• I bought this for my son’s 6th birthday…. He LOVES it! The free game of Mario cart it came with was perfect for him and easy to download. The set up of the game system takes a few minutes. I found it to be very helpful to have the game charged and the system ready to play on before having him open the gift…. that way he could actually use his gift right away I was happy to see that there were many parental controls so that you can give your kids as much or as little freedom on the game system as you would like. Very happy with my purchase!
• The Nintendo 2DS works great for my 6 year old son. He can play all Nintendo DS games on it plus it comes with a free download of Mario Kart 7 which he loves to play. It fits perfectly in his hands and is easy for him to navigate through. I would recommend this system.
• My 7 year old son loves it. It doesn’t close in half like the others DS games and seems small (5 3/4″ x 5″) but he doesn’t mind. The top screen is 3 1/4″ x 2″ and the bottom one is 2 1/2″ x 1 7/8″. It does have good controls and works great for him with a good price. I like the parental controls so I can control the wifi and games.
• The code for Mario cart 7 wasn’t visible when scratched but after contacting Walmart online customer service they sent another 2DS game out immediately and my 13 yr. old grandson absolutely love playing Mario cart 7. I’m planning on purchasing another one for my other grandson who have a march birthday he wants one too.
